Samsung Galaxy Watch 3

Samsung have introduced an all-new smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 3.  This is a straight replacement for the previous 2018 version, combining the features of this and the Galaxy Watch Active 2.

Super AMOLED Displays, in two screen size options

Samsung are offering the smartwatch in two sizes – a 41mm model and a 45mm model – these are mostly the same watch spec wise with a couple of notable changes.

The smaller 41mm version is equipped with a 1.2-inch 360 x 360p resolution Super AMOLED display and a 247mAh battery.  The larger 45mm model, however, makes do with a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display of the same resolution but includes a higher capacity 340mAh battery.

Processor and Connectivity

This next-gen Galaxy Watch 3 utilises the same Samsung in-house Exynos 9110 processor used in the first Galaxy Watch, but comes with an upgrade in terms of 1GB of RAM and double the storage at 8GB.

There are two connectivity options available, a 4G LTE model or a rather less expensive Bluetooth only version.

Outdoor and Fitness Focus

Samsung are pushing the suitability of this watch for those with an active lifestyle, with support for no fewer than 39 physical activities, a heart rate monitor, pedometer, GPS tracking and is waterproof up to depths of 50m thanks to it’s IP68 rating.

Samsung claim up to 56 hours of  battery life on a single charge. The watches are compatible with Qi wireless chargers and reverse wireless charging capability with compatible smartphones.

Health and wellbeing have not been forgotten with ECG functionality as well as sleep tracking and stress level monitoring included too.
